Hiramedia : Dewan Tertinggi Federal Uni Emirat Arab (UEA) telah memilih Putra Mahkota Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sebagai Presiden UEA. Pemilihan tersebut berlangsung Sabtu (14/5/2022) seperti dilaporkan Kantor Berita UEA.
Mengutip kantor Berita Uni Emirat Arab seperti dilansir situs berita alarabiya.net, penguasa Dubai dan Perdana Menteri UEA, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makhtum memberika ucapan selamat kepada Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed yang berusia 61 tahun atas terpilihnya sebagai Presiden Uni Emirat Arab.
Dilaporkan bahwa Dewan Federal mengadakan pertemuan pada hari Sabtu di Istana al-Mushrif di Abu Dhabi, yang dipimpin oleh Penguasa Dubai Sheikh Mohammed.
Pertemuan tersebut dihadiri oleh kepala tujuh emirat yaiu : Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Penguasa Sharjah; Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Penguasa Ajman; Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Penguasa Fujairah; Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Penguasa Umm Al Qaiwain; dan Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Penguasa Ras Al Khaimah, menurut laporan WAM.
UEA sedang menjalani masa berkabung selama 40 hari , sehingga pusat bisnis tutup di seluruh negeri dan hiburan dihentikan untuk menghormati mendiang Presiden.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan menjadi Presiden UEA setelah Presiden Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan meninggal dunia pada hari Jumat (13/5/2022) yang lalu.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan atau yang populer disingkat MBZ lahir pada 11 Maret 1961. Ia merupakan Presiden ke-3 Uni Emirat Arab menggantikan kakaknya, Sheikh Khalifa Al Nahyan.
