Hiramedia : Kementerian Luar Negeri Israel mengkonfirmasi pembukaan kantor Konsulat Jenderalnya di Dubai beserta kedatangan Konsul Ilan Stulman di Uni Emirat Arab (UEA). Konfirmasi tersebut dilansir aljazeera.net(26/1/2021) dari pernyataan resmi Kementerian Luar Negeri Israel.
Menurut Kementerian Luar Negeri Israel, pekerjaan Konsulat akan fokus pada pengembangan hubungan ekonomi antara Israel dan UEA, dan bekerja untuk memperkuat hubungan pariwisata dan penerbangan antara kedua belah pihak, teknologi tinggi serta berbagai bidang lainnya akan menempati posisi sentral.
Sebelumnya, Minggu, (24/1/2021) Israel telah mengumumkan “pembukaan” kantor Kedutaan Besarnya di Uni Emirat Arab. Hal ini merupakan langkah bersejarah yang terjadi sekitar 4 bulan setelah penandatanganan kesepakatan untuk menormalisasi hubungan diplomatik antara kedua negara.
Di pihak lain, Uni Emirat Arab, Senin (25/ 1/2021) mengumumkan bahwa proses pembukaan kantor Kedutaan Besarnya di Israel masih dipengaruhi oleh pembatasan untuk menghadapi virus Corona, mengkonfirmasi bahwa itu akan segera selesai.
Diketahui, pada pertengahan bulan September 2020 Uni Emirat Arab dan Israel telah menandatangani kesepakatan normalisasi hubungan diplomatik kedua negara dimidiasi Amerika Serikat di bawah pemerintahan Presiden Donald Trump. Kesepakatan tersebut dilanjutkan dengan pembukaan penerbangan kedua pihak baik untuk kepentingan dagang dan pariwisata. (Fath)
