Jens Stoltenberg : NATO Siap Bantu Pemerintah (al-Wefaq) Libya, Turki Minta Izin Eksplorasi

Sekretaris Jenderal Organisasi Pakta Pertahanan Atlantik Utara (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg menyatakan keinginan organisanya untuk memberikan dukungan kepada pemerintah Kesepakatan Nasional Libya (Al-Wefaq al-Wathani), sementara Turki meminta Libya izin untuk mengeksplorasi gas di Mediterania timur.
Pernyataan Stoltenberg tentang kesiapan NATO untuk mendukung pemerintah Al-Wefaq adalah perkembangan yang patut dicatat, pada saat serangan Haftar terhadap warga sipil dan misi diplomatik di Tripoli telah mengangkat posisi internasional.
Dalam sebuah wawancara dengan surat kabar Italia “La Repubblica”, seperti dilansir aljazeera.net(14/5/2020) Sekretaris Jenderal NATO mengatakan bahwa aliansi itu mendukung upaya PBB untuk mencapai kesepakatan damai di Libya.
Menurut mantan Perdana Menteri Norwegia dari partai Buruh itu, embargo senjata di Libya mesti dihormati oleh semua pihak. Hal ini tidak berarti menempatkan pasukan yang dipimpin oleh Haftar dan pemerintah Fayez al-Sarraj, yang diakui oleh PBB, pada level yang sama.
Di sisi lain, Stoltenberg bertukar pandangan dengan Presiden Turki Recep Tayyip Erdogan mengenai masalah regional, terutama perkembangan situasi di Libya.
Di New York, Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa memperbarui seruan untuk menghentikan pertikaian di Libya.
Dalam beberapa pekan terakhir, pasukan pemerintah Al-Wefaq berhasil menghancurkan sejumlah situs militer dan peralatan serta pesawat tempur Mayor Jenderal Khalifa Hafter sambil memperketat pengepungan mereka di pangkalan strategis al-Wataya di Libya barat.
Menurut informasi yang dikumpulkan oleh Badan Anatolia, operasi “Badai Damai” yang diluncurkan oleh pasukan Al-Wefaq sejak akhir Maret tahun lalu telah menetralkan sejumlah besar pasukan Haftar, menghancurkan empat pejuang, helikopter, dua pesawat terbang, dan sejumlah besar tank, artileri, kendaraan lapis baja dan senjata berat.
Perdana Menteri Al-Wefaq Fayez al-Sarraj sebelumnya mengatakan bahwa operasi Badai Perdamaian akan menjadi respons yang kuat terhadap para penyerang yang dianggapnya sebagai teroris.
Operasi Storm of Peace meliputi tiga front, yaitu, ibukota, Tripoli, pangkalan Al-Wattiya (Libya barat), dan Bogrin (timur kota Misrata).
Pada Rabu malam, pasukan Al-Wefaq mengeluarkan pernyataan, di mana pihaknya mengeluarkan peringatan terakhir untuk pasukan Haftar yang bersembunyi di pangkalan Al-Wataya, menegaskan niatnya untuk memperluas kontrol negara terhadap semua bagian Libya.
Sebagai balasannya, diberitakan bahwa pasukan Haftar Kamis (13/5/2020) menembakkan beberapa rudal ke daerah perumahan di pusat ibu kota Tripoli dan sebuah rumah sakit, yang melukai 14 warga sipil.
Permintaan Turki
Di sisi lain, Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TBAO) mengajukan permohonan ke Libya untuk mendapatkan izin mengeksplorasi di Mediterania timur, yang mengandung cadangan gas yang besar.
Kantor Berita Anatolia mengutip Menteri Energi Turki Fatih Donmez yang mengatakan bahwa pekerjaan eksplorasi akan dimulai segera setelah proses selesai.
Patut dicatat bahwa pemerintah Kesepakatan Nasional Libya (al-Wefaq) menandatangani perjanjian dengan Turki November lalu untuk membangun zona ekonomi eksklusif dari pantai Turki selatan di Mediterania hingga pantai timur laut Libya.
Perjanjian itu, yang bertepatan dengan perjanjian lain untuk kerja sama militer antara kedua negara. Perjanjian tersebut memicu protes dari Mesir, Yunani, Siprus dan Israel. ( Fath)
