Rusia Kirim Pesawat Tempur ke Suriah

Kedutaan Besar Moskow di Damaskus mengatakan bahwa Rusia telah mengirim sejumlah pesawat tempur model MiG-29 ke Suriah, dan dua pilot Suriah sudah dapat menggunakan pesawat-pesawat ini untuk melakukan misi di wilayah udara negara itu.
Dikatakan bahwa Presiden Rusia Vladimir Putin seperti dilansir aljazeera.net (Jumát, 5/6/2020) pekan lalu memerintahkan Menteri Luar Negeri dan Pertahanan untuk mengadakan pembicaraan dengan Suriah untuk mendapatkan lebih banyak fasilitas dan kemampuan bergerak di daerah maritim, di samping dua pangkalan militer Moskow yang sudah ada di sana.
Kedutaan Rusia di Suriah mengatakan di Twitter bahwa tahap pertama pesawat terbaru adalah untuk tentara Suriah, sembari menambahkan bahwa tentara Suriah akan menerima tahap kedua pesawat tempur MiG-29 dari Rusia, dalam konteks kerja sama militer dan teknis antara kedua negara.
Sementara itu, Amerika Serikat pada akhir Mei lalu menuduh Rusia telah mengirim pesawat tempur melalui Suriah ke Libya, untuk mendukung tentara bayaran Rusia yang berperang di jajaran pensiunan Mayor Jenderal Khalifa Haftar.
Dia mengatakan bahwa pesawat tiba di Libya setelah dicat untuk menyembunyikan asal (pesawat) Rusia di Suriah. Pesawat tersebut kemungkinan akan memberikan dukungan udara dalam waktu dekat. (fath)
