Kementerian Kesehatan Palestina mengumumkan kematian seorang martir Palestina oleh peluru tentara Israel dan mencedera seorang lainya, Minggu malam di Tepi Barat yang diduduki Israel.
Salah seorang korban yang bernama Sufyan Al-Khawaja, 31, seperti dilansir aljazeera.net (23/03/2020) ditembak di kepala, sehingga ia tewas seketika. Sementara itu, sepupunya ditembak di belakang, setelah pasukan pendudukan Israel menembak mereka di pintu masuk ke desa Ni’lin, sebelah barat Ramallah, menurut penduduk desa.
Dalam sebuah pernyataan, tentara Israel mengumumkan bahwa sebuah pasukan menembaki pria-pria muda yang melemparkan batu ke kendaraan-kendaraan Israel di jalan utama yang berdekatan dengan desa, yang menewaskan salah satu dari mereka dan melukai yang lain.
Namun, Kantor Berita Palestina (Wafa) menyatakan bahwa “tentara Israel melepaskan tembakan ke arah kendaraan di jalan utama di pintu masuk desa, yang menyebabkan kematian seorang pemuda, dan tentara mencegah ambulans Palestina yang sedang mengangkut korban martir ke rumah sakit.”
