Kandidat pemilihan Presiden Tunisia dari kalangan independen, Kais Said) ( 61 tahun) menyatakan kemenangannya atas rivalnya, Nabil karoui dari partai Qalb Tunes dengan prolehan sementara 76 % suara berbanding 23 % suara.
Hasil tersebut merupakan perolehan sementara berdasarkan polling yang dilakukan lembaga survie Sigma Consiel Tunisia. Adapun hasil akhir, akan diumumkan Komite Independen Pemilihan Umum Tunisia dalam waktu beberapa hari kedepan.
Tidak jauh berbeda dari perolehan tersebut, The Amrood Foundation for Sounding Opinion mengatakan bahwa Kais Said mendapat 72,53% berbanding 27,74% perolehan riavlnya, Nabil Karoui.
Dalam pidato kemenangannya, Kais Said seperti dilansir Aljazeera.net (14/10/19) menyatakan bahwa (kemenangan) itu merupakan tahap sejarah yang diinspirasi oleh orang lain, dan menunjukkan bahwa era pengawasan Tunisia telah berakhir. Selanjutnya ia menegaskan bahwa kepada para pendukungnya bahwa “Proyek kami didasarkan pada kebebasan.”.
Said menekankan bahwa dia akan bekerja untuk mendukung tujuan yang adil, terutama masalah Palestina. Dia menambahkan: “ negara asing pertama yang akan saya singgahi adalah adalah Aljazair. Saya berharap untuk mengunjungi Libya dan memberi hormat kepada rakyat Palestina,” sembari menekankan bahwa negaranya akan melanjutkan penegakan hukum dan komitmen internasionalnya.
Sementara itu rivalnya, Nabil Karoui mengatakatan “Kami akan memutuskan langkah kami berikutnya setelah pengumuman resmi hasil pemilihan,” kata Nabil Karoui.
Dengan kemenangan telak yang diperoleh Kais Said, ketua partai Ennahda, Rachid Ghannouchi turut mengucapkan selamat kepada Said atas kemenangannya, dan meminta para pendukungnya untuk bergabung dan merayakan dengan rakyat Tunisia di Jalan “revolusi” merujuk ke Jalan Habib Bourguiba di jantung kota Tunis, Tunisia.
Surat kabar “Alchourouk”, salah satu harian terbesar dan populer di Tunisia memuat headline dengan gambar Kais Said sebagai pemenang pemilihan Presiden Tunisia dengan tagline “Rakyat Memberikan Kemenangan Gemilang, Kais Said Presiden Tunisia”.
Tingkat partisipasi pemilih pada pemilihan Presiden putaran kedua yang telah berlangsung Minggu (13/19/2019) diperkirakan mencapai 70 %. (Fath).
