Hiramedia : Setelah kesepakatan para pemimpin negara-negara Dewan Kerjasama Teluk/CGC) membuka kembali blokade atas Qatar dalam KTT Al-Ula awal Januari 2021 lalu, pada hari Senin (12/1/2021), penerbangan langsung pertama Qatar Airways diberitakan tiba di Riyadh dari Bandara Internasional Hamad Doha setelah pembukaan wilayah udara negara-negara Teluk.
Kedua negara – Arab Saudi dan Qatar sepakat untuk melakukan normalisasi hubungan diplomatik dan politik yang sempat teganggu sejak tahun 2017. Kedua negara membuka kembali perbatasan masing-masing baik udara, laut dan darat.
Qatar Airways mengumumkan akan mengoperasikan penerbangan langsung ke Jeddah dan Dammam.
Otoritas terkait di Negara Qatar juga menegaskan bahwa semua tindakan pencegahan telah diambil untuk memastikan keselamatan dan keamanan para pelancong.
Dilansir aljazeera.net (12/1/2021), Saudi Airlines mengumumkan kedatangan penerbangan pertamanya ke Doha pada Senin malam.
Perlu dicatat bahwa hasil KTT Al-Ula mengkonfirmasi berakhirnya krisis yang dimulai pada Juni 2017, dan menyebabkan putusnya hubungan politik dan diplomatik Arab Saudi, Emirates, Bahrain, dan Mesir, serta penutupan perbatasan dan wilayah udara dengan Qatar. (Fath)
