Diharapkan, Parlemen dapat melakukan pertemuan hari ini, Selasa (25/8/2020) untuk menetapkan tanggal sesi berikutnya dalam rangka memberikan suara tentang kepercayaan pada pemerintah ini.
Selama konferensi pers yang berlangsung pada Senin malam di Istana Guest House di Carthage, pinggiran ibu kota, Tunis, Mechichi menyatakan bahwa “Pemerintahannya adalah pemerintahan dengan kompetensi independen yang akan menangani kebutuhan mendesak rakyat Tunisia.”
Dilansir aljazeera.net bahwa Mechichi mengatakan, “Hari ini saya menyampaikan kepada Presiden Republik (Qais Saeed) komposisi pemerintah yang diusulkan yang akan diajukan ke Parlemen untuk disetujui,”. Ia melanjutkan, “Saya memperbarui janji pribadi saya bahwa pemerintahan saya akan menghormati semua faksi di parlemen dan partai.”
pada bulan lalu, Presiden Tunisia, Qais Saeed menugaskan Hichem Michichi untuk membentuk pemerintahan baru. Diketahui, Hisham Mechichi merupakan Menteri Dalam Negeri di pemerintahan Elias Fakhfakh, yang mengundurkan diri karena dicurigai adanya konflik kepentingan.
