Gerakan Taliban Afghanistan mengumumkan bahwa mereka telah melepaskan tawanan kedua dari pasukan pemerintah berdasarkan perjanjian perdamaian yang ditandatangani di Doha beberapa bulan lalu. Sementara itu, pemerintah Kabul juga telah membebaskan sejauh ini beberapa ratus anggota Gerakan Talban yang ditahan di penjara-penjara itu.
Juru bicara Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid seperti dilansir aljazeera.net (17/4/2020) mengatakan, , bahwa Gerakan itu melepaskan dua puluh pasukan pemerintah kemarin yang ditahan di provinsi Laghman di Afghanistan Timur.
Beberapa hari yang lalu, Gerakan Taliban juga melepaskan dua puluh anggota pasukan Afghanistan lainnya yang ditahannya di Provinsi Kandahar Selatan.
Di sisi lain, pemerintah Kabul membebaskan sekitar tiga ratus tahanan Taliban dalam waktu seminggu, dan mengatakan mereka didemobilisasi sesuai dengan kriteria tertentu, termasuk kondisi kesehatan mereka dan kejahatan yang mereka lakukan, dan menjelaskan bahwa mereka berjanji untuk tidak kembali ke pertempuran.
Tahapan pembebasan tahanan dari kedua belah pihak dilakukan, setelah pembicaraan dalam hal ini tersendat, yang mengharuskan intervensi Washington untuk mengimplementasikan perjanjian.
Utusan khusus AS untuk Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, menggambarkan pertukaran yang telah terjadi sejauh ini sebagai langkah penting menuju perdamaian.
Patut dicatat bahwa Taliban dan pemerintahan Presiden Donald Trump menandatangani pada 29 Februari di ibukota Qatar, Doha, sebuah perjanjian yang membuka jalan sesuai dengan jadwal penarikan pasukan AS secara bertahap dari Afghanistan dengan imbalan jaminan dari Gerakan tersebut.
Perjanjian tersebut mengatur pembebasan sekitar lima ribu tahanan Taliban, dibandingkan dengan sekitar seribu tahanan dari pasukan pemerintah.
Di sisi lain, koresponden Al-Jazeera di Afghanistan melaporkan, mengutip seorang pejabat pemerintah, bahwa enam pekerja pangkalan AS di Bagram tewas kemarin dan dua lainnya terluka dalam serangan Kabul utara, dan tidak ada pihak yang mengaku bertanggung jawab atas serangan itu. ( Fath)
