UEA Pesan Pesawat Mata-Mata “GlobalEye” Tambahan Ke Swedia

Diberitakan the eurasiatimes.com (5/1/2021), Uni Emirat Arab memesan dua pesawat mata-mata GlobalEye tambahan dalam kesepakatan senilai $ 1 miliar dengan perusahaan raksasa kedirgantaraan Swedia, Saab seperti diumumkan Senin (5/1/2021). Kontrak tersebut merupakan perpanjangan dari kesepakatan yang ditandatangani pada 2015 lalu, yang mencakup tiga pesawat GlobalEye.
Pesawat GlobalEye melibatkan jet bisnis Bombardier Global 6000 yang dilengkapi dengan radar jarak jauh Saab Erieye dan sensor pengawasan lainnya.

Menurut The Eurasiatimes, kesepakatan itu termasuk opsi untuk membeli dua pesawat tambahan, yang sekarang telah dilaksanakan oleh UEA. Chief Executive Officer Saab, Micael Johansson mengatakan dalam sebuah pernyataan, “Kami bangga bahwa Uni Emirat Arab terus menunjukkan kepercayaan yang besar pada Saab dan solusi kami,”

Pesawat GlobalEye yang dirancang Saab yang bermarkas di Stockholm itu, merupakan platform peringatan dini & kontrol (AEW & C) udara multi-peran. Ini terdiri dari serangkaian sensor yang menggunakan radar Erieye ER (jarak jauh) dan sistem misi.
Bisnis Global 6000-series dan VIP jet adalah platform populer untuk pengumpulan intelijen dan peringatan dini. Menurut Saab, pihaknya dapat memesan kesepakatan di neraca 2020 saat kontrak ditandatangani pada 30 Desember.
Pengerjaan pada dua pesawat baru tersebut diharapkan selesai pada tahun 2025. Berdasarkan kesepakatan 2015 yang ditandatangani dengan Saab, UEA menerima pesawat GlobalEye pertamanya pada musim semi tahun 2020, tepat pada permulaan pandemi Covid-19.
GlobalEye, dengan kombinasi sensor aktif dan pasif modern, menyediakan deteksi jarak jauh dan identifikasi objek di udara, di laut, dan di darat.
AWACS adalah sistem utama peperangan modern karena dapat mendeteksi dan melacak pesawat tempur yang masuk, rudal jelajah, dan drone jauh sebelum radar berbasis darat. Ini dapat memberikan informasi kepada para petempur selama pertempuran udara tentang jet musuh. Itu juga mengawasi peningkatan pasukan musuh dan pergerakan kapal perang. (Fath)
